puppies

The investment and development in our puppies and their outcomes begins long before they are born, with our strategic breeding choices and the holistic management of all our dogs. This gallery showcases some of our results, including the intensive resources we invest in the development of the puppies in their first months of life, leading up to the time when we unite them with their forever families.

on the farm

We do not employ Boerboels as true working dogs. But we do actually live on a working farm and enjoy connecting the Boerboels with their true heritage as a part of our daily farm life. Our dogs explore pastures and forests, interact with livestock and poultry, and accompany us everywhere, inside and outside, on the never-ending adventures and projects around the property.

OUT AND ABOUT

Where we live in Washington State, dogs are permitted in more public venues than in many places elsewhere in the United States. All of our dogs regularly accompany us on public shopping outings, dining in restaurants, or visiting the local brewpubs. The dogs enjoy interacting with new people and children, and we consider these experiences an essential part of their development and socialization.

our extended family

We provide lifelong support for any dogs we produce. We believe it is the right thing to do for the dogs and their families. This ongoing contact and interaction with families and the dogs also helps us to manage our breeding program, by monitoring the lifelong journey of the dogs and their outcomes.

BRED by paragon

A select and limited number of our dogs go to show or breeding homes. This gallery highlights some of these dogs.

SABBS

The power of culture is profound. Culturally, Boerboels belong to South Africa. As a part of this heritage, the South Africans understand the breed at a depth that perhaps those of us outside the culture can never fully comprehend. As such, we feel it is critical to align ourselves with the Boerboel’s cultural registry, SABBS. This gallery showcases some of our involvement with SABBS.

AKC

The Boerboel officially became an AKC-recognized breed in January of 2015. We have elected to dual register most of our dogs in SABBS and AKC. As the primary dog registry in the United States, AKC offers more opportunities for judging and competition. As breeders in this country, we feel it is important to take advantage of the more abundant and frequent events related to the club, showing the results of our breeding program, competing professionally, and educating the public on the breed.

VIDEOS

Too often websites showcase dogs with pictures alone. Good or bad, it is almost impossible to tell anything about a dog from a photo alone. From the perspective of confirmation, attention to the structure of the dog determine its movement and function. The only way to showcase these qualities of the dog is to view them in motion. But it is also just fun to see the dogs in their everyday life, playing and interacting with the world.

instagram

Occasionally we capture moments with the dogs and publish to our Instagram account. This gallery provides a view into another dimension of our breeding program and the Boerboel.
